Welcome to the home page of the Downers Grove Wrestling Club (DGWC).  The DGWC is a youth wrestling club that serves current and future students of District 99, and the communities of Downers Grove, Woodridge, and portions of Bolingbrook, Darien, Lisle, Oak Brook, and Westmont.  The DGWC is a grassroots wrestling organization whose primary mission is to provide a positive experience in the sport of wrestling that will not only help develop the athletes on the mat, but will also facilitate the overall development of young student-athletes off the mat as well.  Our goal is to develop long-term wrestlers who will benefit from the great sport of wrestling for years to come.  This development will come through instruction in fundamental body movements, competitive games, and competitions designed to build competitiveness and wrestling ability, a tired approach to fit the needs of different athletes, basic to advanced techniques in the sport of wrestling, physical training and conditioning to prepare the athletes for the sport of wrestling and other sports, and most importantly through positive reinforcement and coaching from our DGWC coaching staff.

Practices will be held at Downers Grove North (primary location) and Downers Grove South High School (secondary location) and will begin in mid-November and will end in mid-March (subject to the wrestler's level).  Practices will be held two to three days a week based on which program the wrestler is in.  Coaches will consist of the staff of Downers Grove South (DGS) and Downers Grove North (DGN), former DGS/DGN and collegiate wrestlers, current DGS and DGN wrestlers, and parents of wrestlers in the DGWC program.

The DGWC is a charter member of the Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation (IKWF) as well as chartered through USA Wrestling and will serve grades K-8 for the IKWF season, and grades K-12 for the IL/USAW Freestyle & Greco season (Spring).  The DGWC was named a Top 50 club in the nation by USA Wrestling in 2019, 2020, & 2022.
